KUANTAN, Oct 19 — The government will incur costs of up to RM1 trillion if coastal erosion mitigation projects are not implemented immediately, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
PEKAN, July 14 — A total of 12 projects to mitigate floods and curb coastal erosion, including conservation of estuaries in Pahang have been approved and are being implemented at a cost of RM2.13 billion, according to Environment and Water Minister Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man.
PERMAISURI, June 14 — The National Coastal Vulnerability Index (NCVI) introduced under the Second National Coastal Zone Physical Plan (RPP-2) revealed that 425 kilometres (km) of Malaysia’s coastline is affected by coastal erosion, Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican said.
